Flat Translate privacy policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026. Flat Translate is a Shopify app operated by Slipstream Commerce.

What we store

• Your shop domain and the access token Shopify issues when you install the app.
• Your settings: the languages you selected and whether automatic retranslation is on.
• A monthly count of translated characters and a log of translation jobs (language, status, counts).

We do not store customer or order data. The app does not request access to customers or orders.

How your content is processed

To translate your store, the app reads the text of your products, collections, pages, blog posts and menus through the Shopify Admin API and sends it to Microsoft Azure Translator. The translated text is written back to your store. Microsoft processes the text only to return the translation; see the Microsoft Azure Translator data documentation. We do not keep copies of your store content.

Deletion

When you uninstall the app we delete your access token. Shopify sends a deletion request 48 hours later, and we then delete all remaining data for your shop. Translations already written to your store stay there and can be edited or removed in Shopify.
